Program Assistant Any Intermediate or Senior Skater, twelve years of age or older is eligible to become a Program Assistant with the Bluewater-Zurich Skating Club. It is expected that you will participate in both Canskate sessions weekly during the entire skating season, unless other arrangements are made with the Club Coach and/or executive. It is mandatory that you attend a P.A. Clinic – either the one sponsored by HOME Region or the one sponsored by the Bluewater-Zurich Skating Club. It is recommended that you attend both. Shadow Program Assistants are allowed at the discretion of the Coaches and Executive. You must have passed Preliminary Freeskate to qualify.
Senior Skaters A Senior Skater works under the guidance of a professional Coach and is one that has passed their Junior Bronze Freeskate and is working on their Senior Bronze Freeskate.
Intermediate Skaters An Intermediate Skater works under the guidance of a professional Coach and is working towards their Junior Bronze Freeskate. They have passed their Preliminary Dance, Preliminary Skills, Junior Bronze Dances and are working on their Preliminary Freeskate.
Junior Skaters The Junior Program is an introductory or entry level move from Canskate which allows the child to progress from Canskate into a more advanced program that combines teaching with group and private lessons combined. The Bluewater-Zurich Skating Club divides the Junior program into Junior A and Junior B. Junior A is the initial move from Canskate to the Junior Program where the child has not attempted any Skate Canada testing. Junior B Group has passed Skate Canada testing and this child is working towards their Preliminary Skills and Dances both through group lessons and private coaching.
